📝 Pre-Relocation Planning (60–90 Days Before Move)

  •  Begin home sale or lease termination process

🔹 Schooling (if applicable)

  •  Research schools and daycares in the new location
  •  Collect academic records, immunizations, and transfer paperwork
  •  Contact schools to schedule tours and enroll children

🔹 Employer Coordination

  •  Schedule final work date at current location
  •  Coordinate start date at new location

🏠 Departure Week

  •  Complete move-out cleaning and repairs (if required)
  •  Confirm travel and accommodation arrangements
  •  Confirm move-in date with destination housing
  •  Create an "Essentials Bag" (passports, toiletries, clothes, electronics, medication)

✈️ Relocation Travel & Move-In

🔹 Domestic & International

  •  Travel to new location (airfare or vehicle transport)
  •  Check into temporary housing or permanent residence
  •  Perform move-in inspection and inventory
  •  Supervise household goods delivery
  •  Test utilities, appliances, and internet
  •  Unpack and begin settling in

🧾 Post-Move Activities (First 30–60 Days After Move)

🔹 Personal Setup

  •  Register vehicle and get new driver’s license
  •  Register children in school
  •  Find local service providers (doctors, vets, babysitters, etc.)
  •  Establish new routines and explore neighborhood

🔹 Professional

  •  Meet with new manager or relocation support team
  •  Complete any post-move expense reports
  •  Participate in post-relocation surveys or check-ins
  •  Begin new role and integrate into office or virtual team

🔹 International Only

  •  Complete residency registration (if required)
  •  Schedule cultural orientation follow-ups
  •  Stay in contact with tax and legal advisors for compliance

Ongoing Support (First 6–12 Months)

  •  Finalize permanent housing (if previously in temporary)
  •  File relocation-related tax documentation (Form 3903, etc.)
  •  Attend any ongoing relocation counseling or adjustment programs
  •  Ensure all reimbursements are processed
  •  Provide feedback to HR and relocation vendor
